Excerpt	The article presents a new coin of the Emperor Nicephorus I (1.10.802-26.07.811), found nearby the village of Hontica, distr. Of Veliko Turnovo. The author considers that the unusual large number of coin finds of Nicephorus I so far found in the area of Veliko Turnovo could be a confirmation of the recently launched hypothesis that the decisive battle between the Byzantine army led by Nicephorus I and the Bulgarian army led by Khan Krum happened not nearby Pliska as it was supposed so far, but, in fact, in the area of the present day town of Veliko Turnovo.
