Excerpt The author republish a hoard found, by chance, in 1969, at the place called "Cetăţuia" (the Fortress), Basarabi village, Dolj County. The hoard consists in 27 bronze coins and it was given to the Coin Room of the Library of Romanian Academy (now kept in the collection of the National Museum of History in Bucharest). Al. Dinu published a short note, mentioning only some of the names of issuing emperors and the circumstances of the finding in Revista Muzeelor, 6, 1972, p. 571. According to the new approach, the Basarabi hoard starts the issues from 330-333, and its deposition is dated by two coins issued between 384 and 388. The hoard was buried much later than it was thought before.
