Excerpt	This article contains a brief history of the Order of Saint Hermenegild, a Spanish military order created in 1814, which rewards perseverance in service. As well as an analysis of the decorations that its members have carried throughout these two centuries, with the changes they have suffered during the different regimes they have passed through, as well as the reflection of some debates around this issue. Photographs of different copies of the decorations, award diplomas, and photographs of their ceremonies and drawings of their symbols accompany the article.
